![]() ![]() Let’s move on to the space age interior, with beautiful red seats and dashboard.Īll the anodized trim is beautiful, and the radio even works! This car left the factory as a 4 barrel, but you’d never know it from looking under the hood!Īlso note the Factory A/C compressor! The engine bay is nice and clean, too. ![]() Talk about WOW – Here are the 3 Holley Carburetors with progressive mechanical linkage, done to the “M” Tbird specification. This is really the acid test of a T-bird convertible – how does it look underneath the trunk lid, when it’s all exposed? This one looks FABULOUS! The hydraulic rams and lines are new, it’s all just great under here! The top fabric has some wrinkles from being stored in the “Down” position, so I’m leaving the top up to stretch it out. The top rams and mechanism have all been redone, and the top works perfectly. Here it is with the top up! The top is new and the rear window plastic is nice and clear. This car is high quality throughout!ĭramatic styling combined with excellent restored condition! Wow! The paint is spectacular, and the body panels are perfectly straight. Here you can view a video of the car in operation!Īn icon of the Jet Age – the whole car looks like a rocket! I love the wire wheels, and radial wide whitewall tires! I should point out here that the odometer is reading 28,500 miles, but the seller states that in Ohio, cars this old are titled mileage exempt anyway.WOW ! A Black on Red 1963 Ford Thunderbird Convertible, totally and beautifully restored with receipts! And upgraded with Roadster Kit, tri-power, and Wire Wheels! And, of course, it was factory equipped with power steering, power brakes, power windows, radio, and best of all, COLD Factory A/C ! And I know those seats are comfortable after sitting in my uncle’s Thunderbirds for so many years. I don’t see any major signs of wear anywhere. The seats and carpets look just as nice as the dash. If that dash really isn’t cracked, it would be very unusual. Since the Thunderbird emblems have a turquoise center anyway, I think this is a very appropriate color. The turquoise dashboard looks great next to the white exterior. Even though the pictures aren’t that great, it sure looks nice in them for original paint! The chrome is shiny as well. We’re told the car is wearing it’s original paint and has only received minor touch ups. Hopefully they have replaced hoses, filters and belts as well! As far as I can tell, that gorgeous air cleaner is original, too. Oh, and the little matter of an aluminum intake with no fewer than three Holley two-barrel carburetors! According to the seller, the only thing not original under the hood is the brake booster. It also had higher-rate valve springs, a specially ground unique camshaft and a high pressure oil pump. These desirable M-code models (it’s in the serial number) were produced by taking the standard 390 cubic inch V8, adding cylinder heads from the 406 V8 and 10.5.1 compression, dual exhausts, and a trio of Holley two-barrel carburetors on a cast aluminum intake. Bidding has yet to meet the reserve as I write. It is listed for sale here on eBay and is located in Wickliffe, Ohio. According to the seller, this is one of only 17 28 tri-carb “Sports V8” engined 1963 Thunderbird coupes that were ever produced, and I’m sure even fewer of those had factory air conditioning. ![]()
